Walter Schlueter (politician)

Walter Schlueter (born March 14, 1921 in Bremerhaven , † December 27, 1989 in Osterholz-Scharmbeck ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After finishing elementary school, Schlüter completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Schiffswerft AG Weser . During the Second World War , he served in the Navy as a soldier from 1940 to 1945 . After the end of the war, he worked as a professional driver from 1946 to 1960. Then he became an employee in the administration of the city of Osterholz-Scharmbeck .

Schlueter joined the SPD in 1945. He was a council member of the city of Osterholz-Scharmbeck from 1952 to 1960 and again from 1968 to 1978. From 1957 to 1978 he was also a district council member in the district of Osterholz . In 1972 he took over the chairmanship of the administrative board of the Osterholzer Kreissparkasse and from 1973 also worked as a board member of the Association of Overland Utilities North Hanover .

He was presented with the First Class Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the First Class Cross of Merit of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit .

From June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1982 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (6th to 9th electoral term) and from June 27, 1985 to June 20, 1986 in the 10th electoral term. From June 28, 1978 to June 20, 1982 he was secretary in the Lower Saxony state parliament.

He was married and has one child.
