Walter Schlobach

Walter Schlobach (born April 10, 1875 in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg , † April 14, 1950 in Leipzig ) was a German entrepreneur and wood goods manufacturer.

Walter Schlobach was born in 1875 as the son of wood goods manufacturer Franz Schlobach (1824–1907) and his wife Helene. Bambach (1846–1912) born.

After attending school, commercial training and military service, he joined the company Franz Schlobach, sawmill and veneer works , founded by his father in 1846 in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg near Leipzig. After his father left the company in 1905, he and his brothers Curt and Georg Schlobach became co-owners of this company. They enlarged the plant in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg and founded subsidiary companies in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg and Deutsch-Eylau. In doing so, they developed it into a leading veneer manufacturer and supplier in Germany with worldwide connections. The three brothers bought 14 hectares of foundation forest in Gundorf in 1913, in which Schlobach's farm was built.

Walter Schlobach was also active at the municipal level. Together with his brothers, he promoted the development of the Böhlitz-Ehrenberg community and was temporarily a member of the local council.

From 1914 to 1918 Walter Schlobach took part in the First World War as Rittmeister of the reserve of the Royal Saxon 1st Hussar Regiment "King Albert" No. 18 and most recently as head of a mine throwing company on the western front.

From 1905 he was chairman of the Leipziger Reitverein and, as a master's degree, directed numerous Hubertus hunts .

Since 1902 he was a member of the Harmonie Society (Leipzig) .

He lived in the villa, which was built in the Tuscan country house style and is under monument protection, at Auenstrasse 14 in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg (Schlobach House).

After his death he was buried in the family grave of the Schlobach family in the Südfriedhof (Leipzig) .

He was born with Helene. Pommer, a daughter of the Royal Saxon Building Council and architect Max Pommer , and had three children.
