Walter Seubert

Walter Seubert (born March 8, 1974 in Frankfurt am Main ) has been Vice President of the Police in Frankfurt am Main since February 1, 2015 .

Life

Seubert completed his Abitur in 1993 at the Liebig School in Frankfurt am Main and then studied law at the Goethe University in Frankfurt . He passed his first state examination in 1998 and his second state examination in 2001. He wrote his doctorate on the subject of The Brussels Understanding on Institutional Burdens and Guarantor Liability - A consideration from a member state and European law perspective , on the structural changes of Landesbanken and Sparkassen, he wrote in 2004.

Seubert has been a civil servant in the Hessian state administration since 2003. According to his own statements, he took part in a 30-month trainee program that took him to the Darmstadt regional council, to district offices and to the Hessian interior ministry. He then stayed for two and a half years in the personnel department of the Hessian state police headquarters, before becoming head of the department for the protection of the constitution in the Hessian Ministry of the Interior.

In February 2010 he became Chancellor of the Administrative College in Wiesbaden. In February 2012 he moved back to the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, now as head of the personnel department in the state police headquarters.

From July 2007 to January 2010, Seubert headed the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in the Hessian Ministry of the Interior.

He lives in Frankfurt-Kalbach , is married, has three children and belongs to the Roman Catholic faith . From 2001 to 2003 he was an independent lawyer.

Political career

Seubert has been politically active since 1991. From 1996 he was deputy district chairman of the Junge Union Frankfurt. In 1994 he became deputy chairman of the CDU Praunheim / Westhausen , from 2007 to 2013 chairman of the CDU Praunheim / Westhausen. During this time he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group in the local advisory council from 1997 to 2001; 1998 to 2001 as group chairman. At the same time he was a member of the CDU Frankfurt district executive from 1998 to 2004. He has also been a member of the Frankfurt am Main city council since 2001. He is the legal and security policy spokesman for the CDU city council group. Seubert is an assessor on the board of the CDU SME Association of the CDU District Association Frankfurt am Main.

He belongs to the right wing of the CDU in Frankfurt am Main. 2003 faz.net quotes him on homosexual civil partnerships: "Walter Seubert, CDU city councilor and practicing Catholic, is strictly against an" instructional relationship "between church and politics, but shares his church's rejection of homosexual civil partnerships. He sees the danger that the institution of marriage is softened. " As Vice President of the Police, Seubert made it clear in 2016 that “the Hessian police, as a reflection of society, are a diverse police force”, in which “discrimination and degrading behavior is not accepted”.

Seubert was introduced to the office of Vice President of the Frankfurt am Main Police Department on February 3, 2015 by Gerhard Bereswill . The appointment by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior was welcomed by the police unions, the German Police Union (DPolG), the security department of the city of Frankfurt (Markus Frank ( CDU )) and the chairman of the security committee of the city of Frankfurt (Ursula Busch ( SPD )).

The local policeman was introduced to the public as a person in various parts of the city by Seubert.
