Walter Zappe

Walter Zappe , also Fritz Zappe (born June 5, 1905 in Schweidnitz , † December 20, 1980 in Lübeck ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life

Zappe had been active in health insurance in Silesia since 1922 and came to the guild health insurance fund in Lübeck via Berlin in 1937. In Silesia he was already politically active as the city councilor of today's Wałbrzych . As a member of the SPD and trade unionist (ÖTV) he became politically active at the state level and in local politics after the Second World War. He was a member of the first appointed state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein from February 26, 1946 to November 11, 1946. Zappe was a member of Lübeck's citizenship from November 1946 and an honorary senator from 1948. He joined the Schleswig-Holstein State Insurance Institute in 1947 and became its director in 1954. In 1955 he was re-elected to the Lübeck citizenship and remained a member and honorary senator of the city until his retirement in 1970.
