Walter Zechmeister

Walter Zechmeister (born December 15, 1955 in Kittsee ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and farmer. From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

life and career

Zechmeister was born the son of farmer Matthias Zechmeister from Deutsch Jahrndorf and attended the local elementary school. After secondary school in Kittsee, he graduated from 1972 to 1973 agricultural college in Güssing . He then worked as a skilled agricultural worker and became self-employed as a farmer.

Zechmeister was a member of the FPÖ municipal board between 1992 and 1997 and was a councilor in Deutsch Jahrndorf. In 1990 he also took over the role of FPÖ local party chairman and on January 1, 2000 the role of FPÖ district party chairman for Neusiedl am See. Between June 27, 1996 and December 28, 2000 he represented the FPÖ in the Burgenland Landtag. He is a member of the Federal Agricultural Committee of the Freedom Peasantry.
