Walther Bolz

Walther Bolz (born September 14, 1901 in Schönau an der Katzbach , Province of Silesia , † May 10, 1970 in Stuttgart ) was a German veterinary surgeon.

Life

Walther Bolz studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Berlin and the University of Veterinary Medicine in Dresden . In 1920 he became a member of the Corps Cimbria Berlin . In 1921 he joined the Corps Gothia Dresden . After completing his studies with a license to practice medicine and a doctorate to become a Dr. med. vet. He completed his habilitation in 1931 at the University of Veterinary Medicine Berlin, which appointed him private lecturer in 1932 and was absorbed by the Berlin University in 1934 . In 1935 he received a professorship for surgery at the University of Giessen . In 1951 he took a position as a government veterinary councilor in Bad Mergentheim . In 1957 he was appointed professor of veterinary medicine at the Hohenheim Agricultural University .

The focus of his scientific work in Hohenheim was on the rearing of specifically pathogen-free piglets.
