Walther Frisch

Walther Frisch (born July 15, 1879 in Berlin ; † February 6, 1966 in Lindau (Bodensee) ) was a German lawyer and local politician.

Career

Frisch completed his studies with doctorates in law and philology. From 1919 to 1933 he was a member of the Board of Management of Dresdner Bank . In 1933 he became a partner in the banking house of the Arnhold brothers . From 1936 he lived in Lindau. From 1937 to 1944 he was managing director of the Hardy & Co.

After the end of the Second World War he was appointed Lord Mayor of Lindau (Lake Constance) and remained in office until 1956. At the same time he was chairman of the supervisory board of the Prussian Pfandbrief Bank . Together with Count Bernadotte, Frisch was instrumental in organizing the first meeting of the Nobel Prize winners in Lindau .
