The honorary citizenship is the highest honor that the Bavarian town of Lindau (Bodensee) can forgive.

    On the occasion of his 25 years of service in Lindau, Reinwald was made an honorary citizen as the “ingenious folder of the valuable city archive”. With the establishment of the city archive in the town hall, he laid the foundation for scientific research into the city's history.
