Karl Bever

Karl Bever (born April 3, 1843 in Würzburg , † April 3, 1930 in Lindau in Lake Constance ) was a German doctor.

Life

After positions in Tübingen , Würzburg, Prague and Vienna - where he worked with Dr. Semmelweis studied - Karl Bever took part as a battalion doctor in the Franco-German War of 1870/71 . In 1874 he settled in Langenargen as a doctor . In 1880 he moved to Lindau, where he opened a practice in the Villa Friedeck. In 1902, Karl Bever was appointed to the Royal Court Councilor as the family doctor of the royal family in the Villa Amsee. In 1919 he received the title of privy councilor . On the occasion of his 80th birthday, the city of Lindau made him an honorary citizen in recognition of his special personality and as a token of thanks for his service to the community over many decades . Karl Bever was the co-founder of the people's education association in Lindau, founder of the volunteer medical column and honorary member of the Natural History Society. He also worked as a painter.

Karl Bever married two daughters of the philosopher Jakob Friedrich Reiff , Eugenie Julie in 1873 and Marie Elise after her death in 1879, with whom he had two children. His daughter Julie married General Hugo Höfl .

Honors

After him was Karl-Bever-Platz in front of the island of Lindau named.
