Winfried Hörmann from Hörbach

Winfried Hörmann von Hörbach (born June 25, 1821 in Mainz , † October 21, 1896 in Munich ) was a Bavarian Minister of State, District President and Member of the Reichstag .

origin

The Hörmann von Hörbach are an aristocratic family from Tyrol , with a letter of nobility from Emperor Joseph II for Johann Joseph Hörmann von Hörbach (1719–1796), dated March 11, 1785. He was the great-grandfather of Winfried Hörmann von Hörbach. The family was entered in the nobility register of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1814.

Live and act

Winfried Hörmann von Hörbach was the son of the Bavarian ambassador and district president Joseph Hörmann von Hörbach (1778-1852) and his wife Maria geb. Jellenz (1785–1827) from Freiburg im Breisgau .

After studying law in Munich, Hörmann was an accessist , secretary and assessor at the Munich District Court, Aibling District Court and the government of Upper Bavaria. In 1852 he became a district judge in Brückenau , in 1856 a councilor in the government of Lower Franconia, and in 1866 a government director there.

In 1868/69 he was Minister of State for the Interior in the Bavarian Hohenlohe cabinet. In 1870 he became regional president of Swabia and Neuburg (until 1887). In 1871 Hörmann won a mandate in the Reichstag for the constituency of Lower Franconia 5 (Schweinfurt) for the Liberal Reich Party . From 1871 to 1883 he was a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Bavarian State Parliament .

In 1885 he was made an honorary citizen of Memmingen , Kempten (Allgäu), and in 1886 of Augsburg and Lindau .
