Wilhelm von Lermann

Wilhelm Lermann , since 1898 Knight von Lermann (born September 25, 1846 in Arnstein (Lower Franconia) , † May 1, 1917 in Munich ) was a German lawyer.

Career

He was born as the son of the royal Bavarian master builder Joseph Ferdinand Lermann and his wife Amalia Margaretha. From 1865 to 1868 he studied law in Munich . During his studies he became a member of the Algovia fraternity in the winter semester of 1865/66 . After entering the civil service, practical training in Kronach and Munich followed. In 1874 Lermann came to Kaiserslautern as a District Office Assessor . Further professional positions were Ansbach , Fürth and in 1884 the government of Lower Franconia in Würzburg , Munich and Bayreuth . On October 9, 1897, he was appointed regional president of Swabia and Neuburg .

In 1898, Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria awarded him the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown . With the award the elevation to the personal nobility was connected and he was allowed to call himself "Ritter von Lermann" after the entry in the nobility register . In 1911 he received the Grand Commander of this order.

From June 1, 1906 until he retired on September 30, 1912, he was President of the Bavarian Administrative Court .
