Walther Weißmann
Walther Weißmann (born March 20, 1914 in Feldkirchen in Carinthia ; † December 25, 2002 in Klagenfurt ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and managing director of the Federation of Industrialists . From 1956 to 1966 he was a member of the Austrian National Council and from 1966 to 1972 Deputy Governor in the Carinthian provincial government .
After elementary school, Weißmann attended a community school and then graduated from the commercial academy . He then studied at the University of World Trade and obtained his doctorate in business in 1941 . Dr. According to the historian Michael Wladika, Weissmann was admitted to the NSDAP retrospectively from May 1, 1938 after his application of June 24, 1938, which suggests an activity as an “illegal” . He was assigned the membership number 6,151,435. He was also a member of the SA . In 1939 he became a member of the National Socialist student organization Kameradschaft Johann Gottlieb Fichte , which later became the Olympia Vienna fraternity . Professionally, he was initially employed as an accountant and deputy to the senior civil servants at the master health insurance fund in Klagenfurt, and he also worked as a teacher at a commercial academy in Vienna. In 1945 he was employed by a housing and settlement company, in 1947 he became managing director of the Association of Austrian Industrialists of the regional group in Carinthia. Politically, he was initially active in the campaign for the political renewal of Ernst Strachwitz , but soon turned to the ÖVP. From June 8, 1956 to November 25, 1966, he was a member of the National Council, then from April 12, 1965 to December 15, 1972, he served as the 2nd Deputy Governor of the Sima I and Sima II provincial governments .
