State government Sima I

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The state government Sima I forms the Carinthian government in the 21st legislative period from their choice on 12 April 1965 to the swearing-in of subsequent state government Sima II on 20 March 1970. After the state election in 1965 the distribution of seats of government did not change. The Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) continued to provide the first deputy governor and two provincial councilors in addition to the governor, while the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) sent the second deputy governor and a provincial councilor. In addition, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) provided a regional council.

In terms of personnel, however, there were some changes compared to the previous Wedenig V government . After the long-time governor Ferdinand Wedenig (SPÖ) no longer ran in the election, the previous governor's deputy, Hans Sima , took up this position. In addition, the previous Provincial Councilor Hans Kerstnig (SPÖ) took over as 1st Deputy Governor, which enabled Erich Suchanek to take over the office of Provincial Councilor. All other previous members of the government remained unchanged at the time of the inauguration.

Due to the sudden death of Regional Councilor Hanns Rader (FPÖ) on November 1, 1965, a replacement became necessary just a few months after the government was sworn in. On November 24, 1965, Rader was succeeded by Hubert Knaus as regional councilor. In addition, Thomas Truppe (ÖVP) left on November 18, 1966. Walther Weißmann was elected for him on November 30, 1966 .

choice

In the election of the governor, which took place in a majority vote, the new governor Hans Sima (SPÖ) was elected governor with 18 of 36 votes cast. In addition, when the governor was elected, an invalid vote resulted in 12 votes for Thomas Truppe and 5 votes for Reinhold Huber (FPÖ). The election of the provincial governor's deputies and provincial councilors, on the other hand, was based on proportional representation, whereby the candidates were considered to have been elected on the basis of sufficiently signed election proposals from their state parliament club.
