State government Wedenig II

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The state government of Wedenig II forms the Carinthian state government in the 17th legislative period from its election on November 7, 1949 to the inauguration of the state government of Wedenig III on April 28, 1953.

After the state elections in 1949 , three of the seven government seats each fell to the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) and the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). In addition, the electoral party of the Independent (WdU) was represented with a regional council for the first time . With Ferdinand Wedenig , the governor was again provided by the SPÖ, which also sent the second deputy governor and a provincial councilor to the government. In addition to the First Deputy Governor, the ÖVP provided two state councilors. In the allocation of government seats according to the proportional representation system, one seat remained in dispute after the 1949 election due to a constitutional gap between the ÖVP and the WdU. This was finally awarded in a vote in the state parliament at the request of the SPÖ with 28 votes of the ÖVP.

There was a change in the government team in 1952 when Paul Jobst (SPÖ) resigned from his position in a letter dated January 17, 1952. Erwin Pabst was elected for him on January 30, 1952 .
