The provincial government Dörfler II was the Carinthian provincial government between the time of its election on March 31, 2009 and the assumption of office of the provincial government Kaiser I on March 28, 2013. Due to the proportional system, there were four representatives of the Freedom Party in Carinthia and two of the SPÖ in the provincial government as well as a representative of the ÖVP. Compared to the previous Dörfler I government , the SPÖ had lost a state council to the BZÖ after the state elections in 2009 , which meant that the only woman left the state government. At the end of 2009, the BZÖ Carinthia split off from the federal party and has since acted as an independent party, Die Freiheitlichen in Kärnten (FPK) .

After Peter Kaiser became state party chairman of the SPÖ Carinthia, he also took over the position of deputy governor from his predecessor Reinhart Rohr . Beate Prettner joined the state government for Rohr . After Josef Martinz resigned due to an impending charge in the so-called Causa Birnbacher fee, Achill Rumpold was elected as his successor on January 19, 2012. On August 3, 2012, Rumpold also announced his resignation.
