Walther von Altrock

Walther Ferdinand C. von Altrock (born April 9, 1873 in Berlin ; † August 9, 1951 there ) was a German economist and non-fiction author.

Life

He came from the Mecklenburg family Altrock , who were raised to the nobility in the 18th century, and was the son of the manor owner and captain a. D. Adolf von Altrock and his wife Emma nee Baumann. After attending the secondary school and the agricultural college, Walther von Altrock studied agriculture and political science at the universities of Jena, Tübingen and Berlin. He received his doctorate as Dr. sc. pol. He then worked in agriculture for several years, was an unskilled worker at the Brandenburg Chamber of Agriculture and took an active part in the First World War. As an economist, he became an administrative officer (economics council) in the Reich Ministry of Food. From 1904 to 1921 he was General Secretary of the Prussian State Economics College. Furthermore, Walther von Altrock was managing director of the Prussian Main Chamber of Agriculture from 1921 to 1925 and, after his resignation, from 1925 to 1930, association director of the Association of Agricultural Cooperatives of the Province of Brandenburg . In addition, he worked as a non-fiction author.
