Waltraud Karner-Kremser

Waltraud Karner-Kremser (born December 15, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) as well as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

education and profession

Karner-Kremser attended elementary school in Vienna- Liesing from 1972 to 1976 and then switched to the Realgymnasium Vienna 12 in Erlgasse from 1976 to 1981 . Between 1981 and 1985 she completed training as a qualified health and nurse at the Vienna General Hospital. In addition, until 1999 she attended a course in hospital management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business , from which she graduated. From 2000 to 2001, she also completed a master’s course in health economics at Danube University Krems , which she completed with an academic degree ( MAS ). Karner-Kremser is the owner of two children's fashion boutiques.

Politics and functions

Karner-Kremser became a member of the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) in 1983 and was elected district councilor of the SPÖ in the Liesing district council in 1989. In addition, she took over the position of chairwoman of the Liesing district council in 2005 and held this position until 2010. Karner-Kremser ran for the SPÖ in the Liesing constituency in the state and local council elections in 2010 and was subsequently sworn in on November 25, 2010 in the state parliament and local council. There she is secretary and member of the municipal geriatric commission. In addition, she is a member of the municipal commission for the disabled, is a member of the immunity committee and deputy of the assessors in the appeal panel of the Vienna City Senate. In addition, she is a substitute member of the municipal council committee for health and social affairs, substitute member of the municipal council committee for urban development, transport, climate protection, energy planning and citizen participation as well as a substitute member of the KFA monitoring committee of the health care institution of the city employees (KFA). In addition, Karner-Kremser has been deputy chairman of the Hernalser Kulturkreis since 2012 and treasurer of the local Agenda 21 association in Vienna for the promotion of citizen participation processes since June 2011.
