Waltraud Meissner
Waltraud Meißner (born April 16, 1940 in Waldleiningen ) is a Palatinate dialect poet , book author and frequent winner of dialect competitions .
Waltraud Meißner was born in the central Palatinate Forest , but grew up further south in the Dahner Felsenland , whose southern Palatinate idiom had a lasting impact on her language. Although she has lived in the Upper Palatinate district town of Bad Dürkheim since the mid-1960s , she has adopted relatively little of the local dialect.

Awards
Waltraud Meißner has won prizes at various Palatinate dialect competitions - in Bockenheim , Dannstadt , Gonbach and Herschberg .
