The Wandsbeker FC was a sports club from the Hamburg district of Wandsbek . The first soccer team played for 15 years in the highest Hamburg amateur league.

history

Wandsbeker FC was created in 1910 through the merger of the street football clubs BC Frisch-Auf and Wandsbeker BC in 1906 . In 1922 the team rose to the second highest division and two years later reached the top division without losing points. In the Alster District League, the WFC mostly played against relegation. In the 1926/27 season, the Wandsbekern managed a 2-0 victory over Hamburger SV . A year later, Hamburger SV returned the favor with an 18: 5 win at the Rothenbaum Stadium at home , in which Otto Harder alone scored eleven goals. The game was one of the triggers of the football revolution, as a result of which the WFC had to return to second division through a league reform.

In 1931, the WFC was about to rise again, but lost the decider against SC Wacker 04 with 2: 3. Five years later, the team relegated to the third division and fell into the shadows of local rivals Concordia . After the Second World War , the team rose to Hamburg Amateur League in 1948 and back down again in 1951. Just two years later, the rise was achieved, which should establish the WFC in the Hamburg upper house. However, no more than sixth place was reached.

In 1961, the WFC rose again from the amateur league and two years later slipped into the fifth division. It was not until 1972 that the promotion succeeded, which was followed two years later by a return to the Hamburg upper house after a play-off win against 1. SC Norderstedt . In 1976 the WFC was relegated and three years later found itself in the district league. After a regional league guest game between 1980 and 1983, the club returned to the regional league in 1988 and two years later to the association league. This time, too, the WFC stayed in Hamburg's highest amateur league for only two years.

After six years in the national league, Wandsbeker FC merged on April 24, 1998 with Hinschenfelder SV from 1890 to form TSV Wandsetal . The Hinschenfelder SV split off in 1923 as part of the clean divorce as Hinschenfelder FC from the Hinschenfelder Turnerschaft . In 1994 the Hinschenfelder FC from 1923 merged with the Hinschenfelder Turnerschaft from 1890 and the Hinschenfelder SV from 1891 to form the Hinschenfelder SV .
