Wang Xiaoming (violinist)

Wang Xiaoming (* 1982 in China ) is a Chinese violinist .

Life

Wang Xiaoming started playing the violin at the age of four. For ten years he studied violin as a concert subject at the Beijing Central Conservatory with Professor Xu Lu. Wang was supported by the Herbert von Karajan Center and Gerhard Schulz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .

Wang Xiaoming was a multiple participant in the Verbier Festival in Switzerland . In 2008 Wang became 1st violinist in the Zurich Opera Orchestra . Together with Bartek Nizioł (violin), David Greenlees ( viola ) and Alexander Neustroev ( cello ) he founded the Berlinsky Quartet in 2009 . In 2010 he succeeded Bartek Nizioł as first violinist with the Stradivari Quartet . Xiaoming Wang plays the Stradivarius violin “Aurea” from 1715 there.

Awards

Wang Xiaoming received first prizes in the Stephanie Hohl competition and the Mi-Do violin competition . He received special prizes at the Leopold Mozart Competition and the Bärenreiter Urtext Prize at the Austrian Music Competition (2006) of the Vienna Conservatory.
