Wang Zhao

Wang Zhao (* in Tianjing, Pingshan County, Hebei Province , † February 12, 1970 ) was a politician of the People's Republic of China .

Career

Wang joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1932. He became secretary of the CCP's Communal Committee in Shijiazhuang and mayor of the city in August 1945. He attended the First Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People in September 1949 as a delegate from the People's Liberation Army . He also attended the PRC opening ceremony on October 1st. He joined the Chinese Volunteer Army in October 1950 and fought in the Korean War . Wang was awarded the First Class National Flag Medal and Second Class Independence Medal in North Korea . In spring 1961, he became the second secretary of the Qinghai committees directly the CPC and governor of the province named Qinghai. He was politically persecuted during the Cultural Revolution .
