The cheekbone is a rocky outcrop in the Heimefrontfjella of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises up near Bieringmulen in Skjønsbergskarvet .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1987. It is named after the Norwegian railway engineer Johan Wangen (1882 - unknown), who supplied resistance groups against the German occupation of Norway with equipment and weapons during World War II .
