Tubs (Witten)
Wannen is a part of the Witten district of Heven . As of December 31, 2018, it had a total of 5,377 inhabitants.
history
Wannen was first mentioned in the Werden land register in 1150. At that time, tubs consisted of four courtyards , the different landlords were subject to duty (the pin meal , the pin Kaufungen and the archbishops of Cologne ). In the late Middle Ages , Wannen briefly gained regional importance as part of the land route between Witten and Herbede . The “Wannen” street in Heven (1921/22 also called “Wannenstrasse”) reminds of this country route.
Today Wannen is an area designation in the Witten district of Heven, its district number is 73. Shops and craft businesses based in Wannen often give “Witten-Wannen” as the address . Colloquially , the simple term "tubs" is common.

The Wannenbach , which is important for the industrial development of Witten, touches the area of the district.
