history

The coat of arms was designed by the Munich heraldist Emil Werz .

The coat of arms was designed on the basis of the 800-year association between Moosinning and the Imperial Monastery of St. Emmeram in Regensburg . Moosinning was the priory of the monastery, was first mentioned in a document in 1031 as the property of St. Emmeram and shared the fortunes of the imperial monastery until it was abolished on the occasion of secularization. Therefore, the symbols of this manorial rule were adopted in the new municipal coat of arms. So keys and palm branches, which can already be found on the seals of the Benedictine monastery from 1358, were taken over.

To avoid confusion with the monastery coat of arms, however, the arrangement of the symbols was changed. If the two figures were arranged side by side in the monastery coat of arms, they are shown crossed in the municipal coat of arms. Furthermore, the color scheme was changed from red and white to blue and white. The new color choice was based on belonging to the Free State of Bavaria.

Above the coat of arms, the year 1031 indicates the first mention of the place. This number is only used in the official seal.

The Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior approved the use of the coat of arms by the municipality by resolution of October 20, 1950.
