Music style and lyrics

According to Michael Edele from Laut.de , War of Attrition, like its predecessors, offers technically demanding Death Metal with deep, guttural vocals "by band chief John Gallagher and the slightly mean shouts by bass player Sean Beasley". According to Greg Prato, the lyrics on the album are completely incomprehensible due to the deep, guttural vocals; however, it is certain that these would be "gruesome". Thorsten Zahn from Metal Hammer assigned the album to Brutal Death Metal. Zahn also noticed the technically demanding riffs and the deep, guttural vocals. In addition, were blast beats characteristic of the album. The speed of the songs is almost always high and is only lowered in the groovy parts of the songs.

Reviews

Michael Edele from Laut.de thought that "naturally there are no hit melodies or catchy tunes on the album, it is relatively nonsensical to highlight certain songs". He emphasized especially the technically challenging game of electric guitars that in the listener a " lock-jaw " causing, you arthritis would get in your fingers, you would try pieces like Fate of the Condemned or "Unadultured Hatred" enact. The album finally has a sound that is appropriate for the complex riffs , whereas the drums sound too clinical. Edele awarded three out of five points. Greg Prato from Allmusic was also impressed by the precision of the playing of the instruments, so that the musicians would almost look like machines. He awarded 4.5 out of a possible 5 points. Thorsten Zahn from Metal Hammer was also impressed by the technically demanding playing of the instruments and their high speed. He awarded five out of seven points.
