The Warburton Peak is a 1,090 m high mountain in the west of South Georgia . It rises 3 miles northeast of the head of Wilson Harbor .
Scientists from the South Georgia Survey (SGS) mapped it during the survey campaign carried out from 1951 to 1957. Namesake is the doctor Keith Warburton (1927-1959), who worked for the SGS for the first time from 1953 to 1954, but had to leave South Georgia due to illness, then returned to South Georgia from 1955 to 1956 as deputy campaign manager, doctor and mountaineer.
