The Warndt-Gymnasium is a Gymnasium of the Saarbrücken City Association located in Völklingen - Geislautern . It is named after the Warndt , an approximately 5000 hectare forest area on both sides of the Saarland - Lorraine border southwest of Saarbrücken. The Warndt-Gymnasium was accepted into the circle of internationally recognized Unesco project schools on March 8, 2012. Because of its proximity to France , French is the first foreign language for all classes. Since 2011, French can also be taken in a bilingual branch in grade 5 . In the seventh grade, students choose between the scientific and the linguistic branch with physics or Spanish as a major. This choice then applies to grades 8 to 10.
