The Warr Glacier is a glacier in the north of Thurston Island off the Eights coast of the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It flows in a northerly direction into the southwest branch of Murphy Inlet .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after William George Harry Warr (1922–1980), aircraft mechanic in the Eastern Group of Operation Highjump (1946–1947), carried out by the United States Navy , who witnessed the crash of a Martin PBM Mariner on Sept. December 1946 survived on the Noville Peninsula and was rescued together with five other crew members on January 12, 1947.
