Warren Doane

Warren Doane (born October 30, 1890 in Valley City , North Dakota , † May 12, 1964 in San Bernardino , California ) was an American film producer , producer and screenwriter .

Life

Doane was managing director of Hal Roach - movie studios in Culver City and worked since the late 1920s as a director and turned 1929-1934 13 Comedy - short films as The Big Squawk (1929) and Tid Bits (1934).

In addition, he produced over thirty comedy short films between 1932 and 1934. He had his greatest success with Mister Mugg (1933), who was nominated for the Oscar for best short film at the 1934 Academy Awards . He wrote the script for the short film Demi-Cup from 1934 .

In 1954, he was one of the guests interviewed on the television program This Is Your Life about Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy .
