Coordinates: 31 ° 37 ′  S , 147 ° 44 ′  E Warren Shire is a Local Government Area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . The area is 10,753.8 km² and has about 2,700 inhabitants.

Warren is located in the north-western region of the state about 520 km northwest of the metropolis of Sydney . The area consists of 59 hamlets and villages, including Beemunnel, Bogan, Bullagreen, Cathundral, Eenaweena, The Marra, Marthaguy, Merrigal, Mount Foster, Mount Harris, Mumblebone Plain, Mullengudgery, Nevertire, Pigeonbah, Pine Clump, Snakes Plain, Tenandra, Warren as well as parts of Bundemar, Canonba and Collie. The Shire Council is located in the town of Warren in the south of the LGA, where about 1,500 people live.

The Warren Shire Council has 12 members elected by the residents of the four wards (three each from Wards A through D). These four districts are defined independently of the localities. The mayor of the council is also recruited from among the councilors.
