The waiting kuppel tunnel is an 835 m long railway tunnel on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg southwest of the Hessian market town of Niederaula .
The structure accommodates two tracks with a ballast superstructure that can be driven on at 250 km / h.

The route describes a left curve in a southerly direction.
The gradient slopes down to the south. The largest overburden is around 75 m.
The Hattenbach valley bridge connects to the north, and the Solms Fuldatal bridge to the south .
history
During the planning and construction phase, the structure was in planning section 15 of the central section of the new line.
In 1984 the planned length was 805 m. The construction costs were calculated at 24.1 million DM. Construction should take place between July 1984 and January 1986.
The two portal areas were built using the open construction method .
