The Waschsee is a lake near the village of Mechow ( Feldberger Seenlandschaft municipality ) in southern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located in the Krüselinsee and Mechowseen nature reserve . It consists of two basins, the smaller north basin and the south basin. Above ground it has no inflow or outflow, it drains underground via the nearby Weutschsee.
The water of the lake is poor in nutrients ( mesotrophic ) and very clear (visibility over 3 m), the bathing quality is classified as excellent .
There is a bathing area with a jetty at the north and south-east end of the north basin. The lake is completely surrounded by forest.
The lake is 890 meters long, the maximum width is 300 meters in the south basin, which is 16.5 meters deep, and 190 meters in the north basin, which is 11 meters deep.
