The Wase Rock is a massive dome-shaped rock near Wase in the Nigerian state of Plateau . The volcanic plug towers over its surroundings as an island mountain by 176 m and is visible within a radius of 40 kilometers. Its height above sea level is 426 m. A 321 hectare nature reserve was set up around the rock .
