Paul Stanley live with Washburn PSV 2200

Washburn PS is an electric guitar series from the US guitar manufacturer Washburn Guitars . The PS models are exclusively signature models from Kiss guitarist Paul Stanley . In contrast to the well-known signature series from other manufacturers, the PS models are guitars whose shape is constantly changing. Basic forms of well-known guitars ( Flying V , Les Paul ) are taken up and varied or completely new forms are created. What all PS models have in common, however, is that the designs come from Paul Stanley.

The first guitar developed together with Washburn was the PS 1800, a guitar made in the USA that Stanley also played on stage. It took up the design of the Ibanez Iceman PS 10 that Paul Stanley had played in the 1970s. The instrument was available in various designs and color combinations and, based on Stanley's most famous instrument, was also offered in a "cracked mirror" version, in which the ceiling was covered with broken mirror glass.

For the mass market, Washburn offered the more simply equipped models PS 80 and PS 400, which were delivered in a colored box with a few extras; The PS 400 also appeared in four differently lacquered versions (G1 to G4) in order to offer an incentive to buy several instruments. The acoustic model PS 11 was also aimed at the mass market and was available in a set with a gig bag .

In 2007 the “Preacher” series (PS 7000 to 9200), which was obviously inspired by the shape of a Gibson Les Paul , appeared; the guitar was played by Stanley on the tour for his solo album Live to Win . The PSV 2200, a Flying V model, followed in 2009, before the PS 2012 “Starfire” was presented at the NAMM Show in Anaheim at the beginning of 2012, and was initially available in two versions (black and white). In January 2013 Washburn presented four more models in the Starfire range, which had been given the suffix "Time Traveler". They were available in blue, red, a gold tone, and white, and were artificially aged.
