The Washington Examiner is a weekly political news magazine based in the United States . The magazine and its online platform report and analyze national and international politics from a conservative point of view. The Washington Examiner is from the MediaDC, a spin-off of the Clarity Media Group multimillionaire Philip Anschutz issued .
In early 2005, the first edition of the Washington Examiner appeared as a daily newspaper in tabloid format . On the clear media market of Washington viewed him as a competitor to the Washington Post . According to Politico , the newspaper was able to win a number of protagonists with conservative backgrounds as authors by 2009. These included Byron York ( National Review ), political analyst Michael Barone ( American Enterprise Institute and Fox News ), and investigative journalist David Freddoso (National Review and author of The Case Against Barack Obama). To align the newspaper, Politico quoted a former employee in 2009 who said that Antschutz "only wanted conservative columns and conservative column authors" ("wanted nothing but conservative columns and conservative op-ed writers").
In 2013, the paper was transformed from a daily newspaper into a weekly magazine, and from now on the focus was shifted to US and international politics and economics instead of regional reporting. Lou Ann Sabatier became the new CEO. Today u. a. the US radio host Hugh Hewitt in the Examiner.
