The Oferdingen hydropower plant is located in the Reutlingen district of Oferdingen in the Reutlingen district in Baden-Württemberg . It is a run-of-river power plant . The system is built directly on a three-span weir in the Neckar.
History and technology
The plant was built before 1913 and by 1920 at the latest the power plant was owned by Gustav Wagner Maschinenfabrik in Reutlingen. Today (2013) the plant is operated by Reitter Wasserkraftwerk Oferdingen GmbH & Co. KG . A Francis turbine and a Kaplan turbine are used . The system has a fall height of 2.87 m and the output is 950 kW.
