The Wasson rock is a distinctive and largely unvereister ledge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises up from the north face near the head of the Priestley Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1969 after William G. Wasson, aircraft electronics engineer with the Navy squadron VX-6 of McMurdo Station in 1966.
