The Watanuki Pond is a pond in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Wright Valley , it is 2.7 km south-southwest of Apollo Peak , 350 m east-northeast of Kurasawa Pond and 1.3 km east of the end of the Upper Wright Glacier in the northwest part of the Labyrinth plain .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2004 after Kunihiki Watanuki from the University of Tokyo , who was involved in the drilling project in the Antarctic Dry Valleys from 1973 to 1974 and in investigations of the ponds in the labyrinth from 1985 to 1986.
