Wassyl Howera ( Ukrainian Василь Говера ; born December 11, 1972 in Ivano-Frankivsk , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian Roman Catholic clergyman and apostolic administrator of the Apostolic Administration of Kazakhstan and Central Asia for believers of the Byzantine Rite in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

Life

Vasyl Howera studied at the Catholic University of Lublin and received on 2 March 1997, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In the same year he began working for the Byzantine Rite believers in Kazakhstan. On November 11, 2002, he was appointed Commissioner of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches for the Byzantine Rite Believers in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. In 2005 he was awarded the rank of Mitrated Archpriest.

On June 1, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Administration of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, which was established on the same date. The inauguration took place on December 15 of the same year.
