Waterhen River is a river in the Canadian province of Manitoba .

It forms the outflow from Lake Winnipegosis to Lake Manitoba to the south . It flows at the southeast end of Lake Winnipegosis first in a northerly direction to Waterhen Lake . Then he leaves this in a southerly direction to Lake Manitoba.

Immediately south of the crossing of the river by Provincial Road PR 328 (sometimes also called Highway 328) by means of the bridge shown is a small island called "Gabrielle-Roy Island" in the middle. The French name "Île Gabrielle-Roy" was rejected by the competent authorities of the province, although the author Gabrielle Roy wrote in French and some of her readers had written such a "certificate" in 1990 and made unofficial attribution. She also wrote a novel about life on this coot river.
