The Watson Peninsula is a 3 km long peninsula on the north coast of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It separates Macdougal Bay in the west from Marr Bay in the east. The end point of the Watson Peninsula is Cape Valavielle , the northernmost landmass of Laurie Island.
Participants of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902–1904) mapped the peninsula in 1903. Expedition leader William Speirs Bruce named it after the Scottish yacht designer George Lennox Watson (1851–1904), who converted the research vessel Scotia free of charge.
