Thomas Neville Waul
Thomas Neville Waul (born January 5, 1813 in the Sumter District (now Sumter County ), South Carolina , † July 28, 1903 near Greenville , Hunt County , Texas ) was an American politician .
Life
Waul ran unsuccessfully for the state of Texas for a seat in the US House of Representatives in 1859 . After the secession of Texas in 1861, he represented that state in the Provisional Confederate Congress . He also served in the Confederate Army with the rank of general during the American Civil War . After the war, he represented Texas at its constitutional convention in 1866.
He died near Greenville, Texas in 1903 and was then buried there in Oakwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
