Way Out West Festival
Way Out West is a music festival that has been held annually in Gothenburg , Sweden since 2007 . The festival combines performances on three large stages in the castle forest with concerts on other stages around Gothenburg. The music program is usually complemented by other cultural contributions such as film, graffiti, literature and other art.
The festival was mentioned by The Times newspaper and hailed as the most innovative by the music network MTV in 2011.

Way Out West was founded by Ola Broquist & Patrick Fredriksson, Morgan Johansson, Fredrik Holmstedt, Niklas Lundell & Joel Borg.
Ola Broquist & Patrick Fredriksson, Morgan Johansson are also the founders of the booking portal Luger, which acts as the organizer for Way Out West.
The first festival took place on 10-11. August 2007. In the first year the following artists appeared at Way Out West: Primal Scream , Erykah Badu , Manu Chao , The Hives , The Pogues , Regina Spektor , The Hellacopters , CocoRosie and Kanye West . All of the 18,000 tickets were sold.
The seventh edition in 2012 was the first with concerts on three evenings. The appearance of the German band Kraftwerk attracted the most attention. In addition, the organizer chose to offer exclusively vegetarian dishes at the festival. The slogan "Way Out West goes veggie" was discussed extensively in the media.
