Wayne Grajeda

Wayne Grajeda (* before 1968 in Los Angeles ) is an American musician (vocals, guitar) and TV producer who lives in Berlin .

life and work

Grajeda's father was a jazz musician on the trumpet and his mother a singer and pianist . As a child he got a close relationship with music. He went to University High School in Los Angeles and then studied at Santa Monica City Collage . The singer-songwriter's own musical career began in the late 1960s when Grajeda became a member of Eastfield Meadows and contributed to their record of the same name (1968). He worked in the USA in the music industry and founded a TV production company. Together with the team from IM3 Productions, Grajeda was awarded in 2002 for the contribution “The Color of War: Into The Breach”. They won the Cine Special Jury Award for the best historical broadcast of the year. His circles in the film industry included Digital Ranch Productions , Greystone Communications , Alan Landsburg Productions , LMNO Productions and numerous other production companies, cooperation partners and broadcasters. Grajeda is a member of the Directors Guild of America .

In 1972 Grajeda moved to West Berlin and played in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar (second cast of Jesus). During this time he was a member of a Berlin musicians' living community known as Die Hagelberger . They played their own compositions, blues classics, country and American folk songs in a band with guitars, mandolins, harmonica, saxophone, flute, bass and cajón. In 2006 the band still consisted of Jesse Ballard, Wayne Grajeda, Ron Randolf, John Vaughan, Robert Williams, Joe Kučera and Ralf Schmidt. After 45 years of common music history, this formation is called The Band of Brothers and played the 26th song festival of the song tour in 2016.

Following the tradition of the former Die Hagelberger shared apartment , Grajeda still performs in various formations and solo. Grajeda founded the Wayne Grajeda Band in Berlin, in which Silvia Christoph has been singing since 2006 . Together with drummer Dirk Morgen, bassist Thomas Hoppe and studio guitarist René Schostak , Grajeda has been booked live with her own pieces, primarily on Berlin's stages.
