Wayne Lo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wayne Lo (* 1974 in Taiwan ) is an American gunman .

Raised in a traditional Sino-American family musically talented, highly ambitious boy got an ethnic minority reserved for scholarship to Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington ( Massachusetts ). According to his classmates, he was increasingly confused by the informal atmosphere at this decidedly liberal elite school.

Apparently his serious internal conflicts led to religious delusions; after studying the apocalypse , in his own words, he was destined to "destroy evil in his college."

On the morning of December 14, 1992, the ammunition package that he had ordered from an arms manufacturer by telephone arrived at the school. The label made one suspicious, but Lo declared the package a Christmas present for his father in Montana . He also has no weapon.

That afternoon in Pittsfield he bought a semi-automatic rifle . He returned to school and took one final school exam.

He then randomly shot a teacher and a classmate and wounded four other people on the college campus.

At the trial, Lo was found guilty. He had forbidden his lawyers to plead insanity because, as he later stated, at that time he was still caught up in his delusions. Psychiatric reports that diagnosed him with schizophrenia did not come into play.

He is serving a double life sentence with no possibility of early release.
