Wayne McCarney (born June 30, 1966 in Colac ) is a former Australian cyclist who was primarily active on the track .
Wayne McCarney won two gold medals at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh , one in the scratch over ten miles and in the team pursuit (with Glenn Clarke , Brett Dutton and Dean Woods ). At the Goodwill Games in Moscow in the same year, the team took third place with the same composition.
In 1988 McCarney started in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Seoul . Together with Dutton, Stephen Glede , Dean Woods and Scott McGrory , he won bronze. After he had finished third in the Australian championship in two-man team driving with Michael Turtur in 1986 , he finished second in this discipline in 1993 with Tony Davis . Due to health problems, he then ended his sports career.
