We Are the Ocean was a post-hardcore four-piece band from the town of Loughton, Essex , England .
Band history
The band was originally formed by Dan Brown and Jack Spence under the name Dead but Still Dreaming . Although the five-man constellation at the time broke up, Brown and Spence were looking for and found new members. In 2007 a new line-up was made with Liam Cromby, Rickie Bloom and Tom Whittaker. After a while Bloom left the band and was replaced by Alfie Scully. After these many changes in the line-up of the band, they renamed themselves We Are the Ocean . The band quickly gained popularity through MySpace and was nominated for Best British Newcomer in Kerrang magazine . She released her EP of the same name shortly afterwards, of which only 1000 copies were made.
We Are the Ocean toured extensively after the release of their EP. They played shows in the UK, Europe, America and Australia. Before they started collecting material for their debut album, they released a four-track EP called Look Alive . Her album was produced by Brian McTernan, who also produced Thrice and Converge albums. The album was named Cutting Our Teeth and was released in February 2010. The band released a deluxe edition of Cutting Our Teeth with a second CD in October 2010 , which included songs from the first and second EP and four previously unreleased tracks. Since they were founded in 2007, they have shared the stage with many musical greats, including Silverstein and Lostprophets .
We Are The Ocean started recording their second album in December 2010. This resulted in Go Now and Live , which was released on April 25, 2011. After that, the band toured the world until the end of 2011. In October, a special edition of Go Now and Live was released. It includes a second CD with a complete unplugged show from London's Bush Hall with eleven tracks.
Recordings for a third album began in spring 2012, while they also toured Europe as the opening act for Silverstein . On June 5, 2012, the band announced that lead singer Dan Brown had left the band as an active member. On the same day they also released Bleed , which is the first song from the third album Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow . The first single from the album was The Road (Run for Miles) . The album itself was finally released on September 17th that year, followed by a European tour.
The following year the band toured England. In addition, the band completed a tour of Germany through seven cities in May 2013.
