We insist! is a French jazz rock / math rock band.
history
The band was formed in 1995. Your name We Insist! was based on the concept album We Insist! Freedom Now Suite chosen by Max Roach .
On June 1, 2009 - initially exclusively in Germany - their sixth album The Babel Inside Was Terrible was released , on which the band can only be heard as a quintet after the departure of Cyrille Méchin. Guitarist Julien Divisia and saxophonist François Wong left We Insist! a little bit later; in February 2014 with "We Insist!" for the second time a self-titled album by the band.
style
The music of We Insist! is often classified in the genres of jazz rock and math rock. In addition to the unusual line-up with two saxophones, which is unusual for a rock band, the use of crooked rhythms and bars is striking . The band names various artists such as At the Drive-In , the Beastie Boys and Frank Zappa as influences .
