Weavers Needle is an approximately 300 meter high stone column and at the same time the unmistakable peak of the mountain of the same name (1388 meters) in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix in the US state of Arizona .
Weavers Needle is located in a desert landscape surrounded by cacti and mesquites in the valley of the former Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine . The summit was named after the prospector and researcher Pauline Weaver (1797–1867).
According to historical records, the Weavers Needle played a significant role in the stories of the Lost Dutchman gold mine. The point of the needle is said to have indicated the point of a rich gold vein by its shadow.
