Weem ( Scottish Gaelic : Baile a 'Chlachain ) is a village on the B846 near Aberfeldy in the Scottish Council Area Perth and Kinross . The name "Weem" is derived from the Gaelic word uamh ( cave ).

Close to the village is Castle Menzies , the former Weem Castle, where Bonnie Prince Charlie spent two nights in 1746 on his way to the Battle of Culloden . As one of Scotland's best preserved castles , Castle Menzies is the seat of the Clan Menzies . The castle is managed by a private preservation trust and is open to visitors in the summer.

The old parish church of Weem is of medieval origin and houses the tombs of the Menzies family from the 16th century.

There are two pubs in Weem, the Ailean Chraggan and the Weem Hotel.
